Development Plans
Phase 3 - Commercial Deployment
After validation of biomass component extraction efficiency and conversion performance at a demonstration scale, Maine Renewable will have a refined economic/energy model that will be used to assess the fiscal metrics for full scale commercial facilities.
Deployment must be complimentary with existing bio-mass users to add value while
avoiding adverse impact to the existing area economy.
Locating a commercial facility with an existing bio-mass energy user or pulp/paper
operation will leverage existing capital infra-structure and provide mutual benefits. Fiber optimization through component extraction will enhance revenue streams and diversify facilities for a competitive advantage in the market place. Specifics of an operational plan would be tailored to each facility business model.
A facility in an agricultural area will leverage low grade agricultural fiber in combination with waste production materials and low grade forestry residue within an economically
viable operational radius. Such a facility would require an in depth integration to the
surrounding region to allow for complimentary benefit with existing enterprises.
Maine Renewable in conjunction with TSI/Self-Gen Inc. has the project experience and expertise to develop this model that will provide economic enhancements to the present use of biomass fiber.
